Early Years Services Guidelines, DETE, QLD Gov.
This guideline forms part of the Department of Education DETE to provide assistance to NGO's.
This guide outlines the design requirements for a Small Integrated Early Years Service providing: Early Childhood Education and Care, child and maternal health and parenting and family support services.
The target group is families with children from birth to eight years. Many early years services will also focus on disadvantaged or vulnerable families, including Aboriginal and / or Torres Strait Islander families or people from culturally or linguistically diverse backgrounds.
Early years services are increasingly being delivered through an integrated / co-located service delivery model. This approach improves access to services whilst also increasing the financial viability and sustainability of a service, particularly in small rural/remote locations. To learn more about the Framework for Integrated Early Childhood Development please refer to the Department of Education, Training and Employment's (the Department) website: http://deta.qld.gov.au/earlychildhood/service/framework/index.html.
The Department works with a range of non-government or private organisations to develop appropriate, high quality infrastructure for local communities to provide an integrated early years service.
